Woman found dead in 'unexplained circumstances' in apartment in Finglas
The body of the woman remains at the scene as the apartment has been sealed off as a crime scene
Gardaí are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman's death in Charlestown
A woman whose body was found in a flat in Finglas this morning may have died as a result of violence, it has been reported.
Gardaí were called to the apartment in Charlestown earlier this morning where they found the woman, who appeared to have serious injuries.
The body of the woman remains at the scene as the apartment has been sealed off as a crime scene.
According to RTE, gardai found the woman who '"appeared to have serious injuries" and officers suspect that she "may have died violently".
A source told Sundayworld.com that gardai are "moving in the direction" towards launching a murder investigation.
The State Pathologist's Office has been informed while the Garda Technical Bureau is also due to carry out a forensic examination of the scene.

“Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a body of a female in unexplained circumstances at an apartment in the Charlestown area of Finglas this morning, 4th October 2021,” gardai said.
“The body of the woman remains at the scene.”
Gardai said further updates will be issued later.
