Woman (40s) arrested as Gardaí seize €420k worth of heroin during stop and search

A woman in her 40s has been arrested after Gardaí seized €420,000 worth of drugs during stop and search in Inchicore.

At approximately 4.50pm on Tuesday, Gardaí stopped a woman on Tyrconnell Road and conducted a search of the woman and found 3kg of Diamorphine on her person.

The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

The woman arrested was taken to Kevin Street Garda Station where she is currently detained.

She can be held for up to a total of 7 days.

A spokesperson from An Garda Siochana told the press: “As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí have seized €420,000 of Diamorphine following stop and search of a woman in Inchicore, Dublin 8 on Tuesday the 12th April 2021”

“At approximately 4:50pm, Gardaí from the DMR South Central Divisional Drugs Unit stopped a woman on Tyrconnell Road and conducted a search of a woman. Approximately 3kg of Diamorphine was recovered during the search.”
