The robbery comes just weeks after the business re-opened its doors after being closed all through the coronavirus pandemic.

A brazen thief has been caught on CCTV loading up seven kegs of beer and calmly driving away from a Co Meath pub.

General Manager at the Kilberry Pub and Kitchen Grainne Smith posted the video clip on social media in bid to track down the thief.

“There has been a few sightings, the van has been sighted in the last couple of days in the area,” she told the Sunday World.

They appealed for anyone who saw the blue Ford van used in the theft on February between 11am and 11.15am to contact gardaí in Navan.

The robbery comes just weeks after the business re-opened its doors after being closed all through the coronavirus pandemic.

“The place was closed for four years and got a complete renovation. We opened in June with just the bar and then re-opened the restaurant just after the restrictions were lifted, then this happened.”

“That would be a small order for us because we’ve been quite busy here.”

Grainne said that at least two other premises in the area have also fallen victim to kegs being stolen after delivery.

At the same time she said there are bigger things to worry pointing out they had been at a funeral today of a close relative of one of the owners.

“That kind of put everything into perspective. After everything over the past two years, we said we have to get on with it.”

“As long as we have Carlsberg for them at the weekend, we’ll be alright.”
