The victim was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore where he is continuing to receive treatment
Two young boys are being quizzed by gardaí after a man was stabbed in an assault in Co Offaly on Sunday night.
The victim, who is in his 60s, received “an apparent stab wound”, according to gardaí, in the incident that occurred in the Mucklagh area outside Tullamore, at approximately 9.10pm.
The man, who is reportedly a delivery driver, was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore where he is continuing to receive treatment.
However, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Gardaí said they arrested two male juveniles following the assault.
“The two male juveniles are currently detained at Tullamore Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984,” gardai said.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
