Two people arrested following a seizure of cannabis worth €133,600 in Dublin have been charged and will appear before court on Tuesday.

Following a series of raids the Blanchardstown area yesterday, officers discovered 6.68kg of herbal cannabis and arrested a 22-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman.

Gardaí said the operation was carried out targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime in the area.

The operation was led by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, gardaí from the drugs unit at Blanchardstown and the Revenue Customs Service searched a number of premises in the Blanchardstown area.

In a statement today, a garda spokesman said the two people arrested will now be brought before the courts.

"Both the man and woman are due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on Tuesday 27th July 2021 at 10.30am.

"Investigations are ongoing."
