Two men held in Dublin after €1.3 million worth of drugs are seized in major Garda operation

Gardai in Dublin have arrested two men after more than €1.3 million worth of drugs were seized in a number of raids across the city.
The men, aged 35 and 36, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking related offences, after gardai discovered suspected cannabis, cocaine and mixing agent in the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) operation on Monday.
Crime Bureau officers and the Special Crime Task Force (SCTF) searched a business premises in West Dublin and two residential properties at Dublin city centre locations as part of ongoing organised crime investigations.

“In the course of these searches, 66 kilos of cannabis along with a smaller quantity of cocaine (subject to analysis) and mixing agent with a value of €1,320,000 was seized,” gardai said.
“Also seized was €33,090 in cash along with two vehicles.
"In the course of this organised crime related operation, two males aged 35 and 36 years, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking related offences, contrary to the provisions of section 15, Misuse of Drugs Act 1977/84.”
Gardai added: “The arrested males are currently detained, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Finglas and Mountjoy Garda Stations.”
