A man is due before the courts later today after gardai seized a huge haul of drugs and cash in south Dublin yesterday.

A total of €108,687 worth of drugs and €69,930 in cash were seized following searches in the Tallaght area.

Two men, one aged in his 20s and the other in his 30s, were arrested by gardai as part of Operation Tara.

The man in his 30s has since been charged and is due to appear before Tallaght District Court at 10.30am this morning.

The man in his 20s has been released without charge with a file now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

“At approximately 3.40pm yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, September 14, gardaí conducted a search of a residential property in Brookview Drive, Tallaght and discovered €69,930 in cash,” gardai sad.

“In a follow up search at a residence in New Seskin Court, shortly before 8.30pm yesterday evening, gardaí seized €81,662 worth of cocaine and €27,025 worth of MDMA. All drugs will now be sent for analysis.

“Two men, one aged in his 20s and the other in his 30s were arrested as a result. The man in his 30s has since been charged and is due to appear before Tallaght District Court at 10:30am this morning.

“The man in his 20s has since been released without charge with a file now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.”
