Two women have been arrested after gardaí seized a massive haul of approximately €66,000 worth of drugs and almost €15,000 in cash in Dublin 12 today.

This morning, gardaí attached to the Crumlin District Drugs Unit stopped and searched a vehicle on the Drimnagh Road.

During the search, gardaí discovered 2kg of suspected cannabis herb in the boot and a total of €14,930 in cash.

Two woman aged in their 20s, were arrested at the scene and taken to Crumlin Garda Station. They are currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

A follow-up search operation was later conducted at a residence in Dublin 12, where gardaí seized a further quantity of cannabis herb and cannabis resin.

The total value of drugs seized is estimated at €66,000 and all drugs will now be sent for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
