As Gardaí began to arrest one of the juveniles, they were assaulted.
During the incident, one female garda was pinned to the ground by one youth who stood on her arm.
The other Gardaí at the scene were kicked and punched, and while they were not seriously injured they received bruising and sought medical attention.
One male juvenile who was arrested at the scene was taken to Trim Garda Station for questioning.
Gardaí returned to the area once again at 10pm where they found a number of youths had returned to the scene and were engaged in anti-social behaviour.
While attempting to make further arrests, the perpetrators resisted and once again the arresting officers were subject to assaults.
During this incident, three youths, two males and one female were arrested and taken to Ashbourne Garda Station for questioning.
As all accused are underage a file will be prepared for the National Juvenile Liaison Office for consideration.
Gardaí have said that they are following a definite line of enquiry in relation to the incident and are in the process of identifying those who were part of the group.
CCTV is also being examined in the area as part of the investigation.
