Gardai investigating the armed robbery of a post office in Stradone, Co Cavan have arrested three more men this morning. 

The three, including one man in his 40s and two others in their 20s, were arrested in the Cavan area by local detectives who were backed up by uniform officers and the Armed Support Unit.

It follows the earlier arrest of a man in his 30s on April 24, 2021.

He was subsequently released without charge and gardai say a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí added that they are continuing to appeal for information in connection with the robbery which occurred shortly after 10am on Thursday, April 22 in Stradone.

“A vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident was found burned out nearby a short time later, at Lisnageer, Cootehill Co Cavan,” gardai said.

“Anyone with information or who may have video footage, including dash cam or CCTV footage, in the Stradone or Cootehill area are asked to make contact with Gardaí at Cavan Garda Station on (049) 4368800.”
