Three men who were arrested after a dugs bust that resulted in the seizure of €200,000 worth of cannabis herb yesterday have had their periods of detention extended. 

The men, one aged 58 and two others who are both 45, remain in custody at Coolock, Raheny and Ballymun Garda Stations.

It follows an intelligence-led operation conducted yesterday by Gardaí attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).

Special Crime Task Force (SCTF) officers also participated as did personnel assigned to the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR).

During the course of searches carried out at locations in Dublin and Meath, cannabis herb, with an estimated value of €200,000 (pending analysis) was seized.

The trio are being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

“All three men have had their periods of detention extended and remain in Garda custody at this time,” Gardai added.
