Shock attack Teen charged after man robbed and assaulted at Stephen's Green, Dublin

A teenager has been charged following a robbery and assault in the early hours of Sunday morning in Dublin city centre.

Shortly after 1am, a man who was walking in the Stephen's Green area in Dublin 2, was assaulted and a number of his personal items were stolen.

He was rushed to St. James' Hospital via ambulance to be treated for injuries which are understood to be non-life threatening.

While on patrol in Dublin 2 later that night, Gardaí observed the suspect and arrested him on Fitzwilliam Street.

The stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner.

The man, who is in his late teens, was taken to Pearse Street Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He has since been charged and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice tomorrow morning, Monday 18th October, at 10.30am.
