A Rottweiler who was tied to a gate and abandoned in December 2020 has yet to be rehomed, Dogs Trust have revealed.
Seven-year-old Beau made headlines last winter when she was abandoned at the charity’s rehoming centre in Finglas in the middle of the night.
CCTV footage from that evening showed two people walking up to the gates of the centre with Beau on a lead. They then dropped the lead over a metal post then fled the scene, leaving the dog behind.
Upon veterinary examination, it was discovered that Beau had a severe ear infection that left her in enormous discomfort and caused her head to tilt.
She also needed surgeries to remove several tumours.

Beau has been living with a foster family over the past few weeks but is now ready to move on to her forever home.
However, as she has some complicated veterinary issues, Dogs Trust have said that Beau will need to be put in an adults-only home with people who are willing and financially able to care for her into her old age.
She will also need a home with a securely enclosed garden, the charity added.

Niamh Curran-Kelly, Veterinary and Welfare Manager at Dogs Trust Ireland said: “Beau is doing really well, none of the conditions she has are active at the moment and she is currently not on any medication.
“However, she may develop lumps in the future, and if she does they will need prompt veterinary intervention. She also has pancreatitis, which will need management with a very specific diet.”
Dogs Trust believe that Beau has a lot of love to give and anyone interested in welcoming her into their homes should contact the charity on 01 879 1000.
