A motorist was arrested after drink driving and crashing in Cork yesterday.

On Sunday morning, gardaí from Fermoy responded to a report of a single vehicle collision in Conna.

“Luckily nobody was hurt on this occasion,” a spokesperson revealed on an official An Garda Siochana Facebook page.

The driver failed a roadside breath test and was arrested as it was suspected that he had driven under the influence.

Gardaí brought him back to station, where he provided a breath sample that showed he was over the limit.

But it doesn’t end there, as his car was also seized after gardai discovered it wasn’t taxed.

“Never take a risk by driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” gardaí said.

“Thankfully, on this occasion, the occupants and other road users were not hurt. Our message is simple - arrive alive.”
