A man has been hospitalised with "serious injuries" after being shot yesterday evening in Dublin.

The incident is believed to have occurred shortly after 9pm in the Coolock area.

A man, aged in his 30s, was rushed to Beaumont Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

A technical examination was carried out at the scene earlier this morning, 12th August 2021.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to any persons who may have information and who were in the Belcamp area between 9pm and 10pm to contact Coolock Garda Station on 01 666 4200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
