During a follow up search of an address in Ballinrobe, Gardaà located a further €5,500 of suspected cocaine, €1,400 in suspected cannabis herb, a suspected cocaine press, moulds and a small quantity of cash.
A man in his early 30s has been charged in connection with the seizure of approximately €85,500 worth of suspected cocaine and is due to appear before Galway District Court later today.Â
At around 1pm yesterday, Gardaà attached to the Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit made the discovery after a man was seen retrieving suspected cocaine at a rural location in Ballinrobe.
Approximately €80,000 of suspected cocaine was seized and one man in his early thirties was arrested.
During a follow up search of an address in Ballinrobe, Gardaà located a further €5,500 of suspected cocaine, €1,400 in suspected cannabis herb, a suspected cocaine press, moulds and a small quantity of cash.
All of the drugs were then seized, and they are now undergoing forensic analysis.
The man who was arrested was detained at Castlebar Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act of 1984.
