A man has been charged after attempting to cover his face while driving past gardaí to avoid road checks.

Earlier today, the Waterford Roads Policing Unit noticed the driver of the vehicle blocking his face while driving past them.

Gardaí carried out a check on their mobility device and found that the car had no tax, no NCT, and no insurance.

The vehicle was seized, and the driver was arrested and charged.

An Garda Síochána shared a photo of the incident on social media and wrote: “Waterford Roads Policing Unit observed this vehicle with the driver attempting to cover his face while driving past them.

“A check on the Garda mobility device showed the vehicle had no tax, no NCT and was also uninsured. Vehicle seized, driver arrested and charged. #SaferRoads.”
