Man arrested in Co Antrim as police investigate alleged money laundering and fraud

The PSNI searched two properties in the Larne area as part of the operation

A 57-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of fraud and money laundering offences.

He was detained in the Larne area today by members of the PSNI’s Economic Crime Unit.

Two residential properties were searched as part of the operation which was undertaken in conjunction with the Tactical Support Group.

D/Sergeant Glenn from the Economic Crime Unit said: “These searches and arrest are in connection with an ongoing investigation into suspected Fraud offences including Fraud by abuse of Position in the Larne area between July 2006 and current date.

“The 57 year old man remains in custody at this time.”

The PSNI have said enquiries are ongoing.
