Quizzed Man arrested following taxi driver assault in Limerick city over the weekend

Gardaí have said a man is being quizzed following an assault in Limerick city over the weekend. 

It has been reported by the Limerick Leader that the victim, a taxi driver, was assaulted on Saturday afternoon in William Street at around 3.30pm.

Gardaí have said they are investigating the incident.

“Following an altercation at the scene, a man received injuries,” gardai said today. “These injuries are non-life threatening.

“A man was arrested in relation to this assault and was taken to Henry Street Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act.

"Investigations are ongoing,” they added.
