Gardaí have arrested two people in connection with a “serious assault” in Dublin city centre last night.
A man was rushed to the Mater Hospital after he was attacked in the Upper Gardiner Street area of Dublin 1 in the early hours of Sunday, February 13.
His injuries are described as serious but non-life-threatening.
Following the incident, Scenes of Crime investigators attended and conducted an examination.
A man (30s) and a woman (20s) have been arrested as part of this investigation.
They are both currently detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Gardiner Street area, between 2.45am and 3.30am on Sunday 13th February and has information about this incident to come forward.
