More than €100,000 worth of drugs, including cannabis and suspected cocaine, have been seized and a man has been arrested today following a joint intelligence led operation.

Gardaí attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Store Street Divisional Drugs Unit along with Revenue’s Customs Service conducted a joint intelligence led operation today in Dublin city centre.

During the operation, approximately 2.5kgs of cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €50,000 was recovered.

A number of follow up searches were conducted and a further 250g of cannabis herb and 700g of a substance suspected to be cocaine was seized.

The total value of controlled drugs seized is €104,000 (subject to analysis).

A 41-year-old man was arrested and is currently detained at Store Street Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
