Operation Tara Man (30s) quizzed by gardai following €19,000 drugs seizure in Waterford

Cocaine to the value of €17,500 and €1,500 worth of cannabis were seized


A man in his 30s was arrested and quizzed by gardai following the seizure of €19,000 worth of drugs in Waterford. 

Cocaine to the value of €17,500 and €1,500 worth of cannabis were seized when the Waterford Divisional Drugs Unit searched a premises in the Ferrybank area of Waterford City on Tuesday.

A man in his 30s was subsequently arrested, and brought to Waterford Garda Station, where he was detained for questioning.

The search was conducted as part of Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris on July 2, 2021

“The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels - international, national, local - involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs,” gardai said.
