A man has been arrested after gardai found 96,000 euros worth of suspected cannabis in a house in Dublin (An Garda Siochana)

A man in his 30s is being quizzed by gardai after €96,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb was seized in South Dublin this morning. 

He is currently being detained at Terenure Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking).

It follows an intelligence-led operation in Rathgar, Dublin 6 that was conducted by gardaí attached to the Terenure Drugs Unit.

The officers, working in conjunction with the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Revenue Customs Officers searched a property in Rathgar at approximately 11.20am.

During the course of the operation, a package containing approximately 4.8kg of suspected cannabis herb (pending analysis) with an estimated street value of €96,000 was seized.

The man was arrested at the scene and taken to Terenure Garda Station.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
