Man (20s) arrested after van set on fire outside Shopping Centre in Blanchardstown, Dublin

A man in his 20s has been arrested after a van was set on fire outside Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in Co. Dublin.

He is currently being detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station as part of the investigation into the criminal damage.

The incident happened at approximately 10.25pm on Thursday night.

A Gardaí spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage that occurred in Blanchardstown at approximately 10:25pm last night, Thursday 7th April 2022.”

“A man in his 20s has been arrested in relation to this incident and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Blanchardstown Garda station.”

“Investigations are ongoing.”
