Horror video shows two teens being attacked by gang of youths in Offaly housing estate
Younger children also join in the attack towards the end of the video
A video of a violent attack in Co. Offaly has been condemned after it was widely shared on social media this week.
The incident which took place in a houseing estate in Tullamore showed a group of youths targeting two teens walking down the road.
In the video a teenage boy walks up to another teenage boy and girl and throws a football directly at the teenage boy before the girl throws liquid back at the boy who threw the football.
A number of youths then run at the couple and start attacking the shouting: “hit him a dig, hit him” as they repeatedly punch the boy who was attacked with the football while the girl he was with shouts at them to leave him alone.
Younger children also join in the attack towards the end of the video and a youth can be heard shouting: “Give it to her, she started it,” before the video ends.
It is unclear when the video was taken.
We have contacted gardai for comment and they said they will respond in due course.

It is the latest in a series of videos of violent incidents in Ireland posted online this week.
Gardai in Kerry are investigating another incident which was videoed which shows a boy being repeatedly kicked in the head by youths while lying on the ground.
Gardaí believe the attack occurred at Chapel Place near New Street in Killarney last Saturday.
