Gardai seize over €60k worth of opioid painkiller and arrest two in Cork city

Gardaí seized €62,000 worth of diamorphine during one of the searches
Gardaí have seized €62,000 worth of the opioid painkiller Diamorphine following a search in Cork city centre.
The seizure was made as part of Operation Tara, the National Garda Anti-Drugs Operation.
Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drugs Unit in Cork stopped and searched two men at the city’s Kent Railway Station at 7.40pm on Friday evening.
During this search 0.45 kg of Diamorphine with a street value of approximately €62,000 was recovered.
Two men aged in the 20s and 50s were arrested at the scene and brought to Gurranabraher Garda Station where they are being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act. Investigations are ongoing.
