Gardai seize cocaine and diamorphine worth €282,000 in Straffan, Co Kildare

Gardaí seized a whopping haul of drugs worth €282,000 in Straffan, Co. Kildare after searching two lock-up units under warrant.

During the raids, officers from the Divisional Drugs Unit found cocaine and diamorphine, as well as weighing scales, mixers, a drug press, and bagging materials.

The seizure was made as part of a probe into the sale and supply of cocaine and diamorphine in the Dublin area.

At 7.30pm on Saturday evening, April 24, two lock-up units were searched with assistance from the Garda Dog Unit, Leixlip Drugs Unit and detectives from Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda Stations.

One of the units did not contain anything of interest but a vehicle was found inside the other.

Inside, Gardaí discovered €259,000 worth of cocaine and €23,800 worth of diamorphine.

Gardaí also seized weighing scales, mixers, a drug press and a large amount of bagging materials. All drugs are being sent for analysis. The vehicle has also been seized for further technical examination. No arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing.
