Ne-naw Gardai seize cannabis plants worth €29K, cocaine and arrest three in Tipperary

Three men were arrested and almost €30,000 worth of cannabis was seized by the Gardaí after the discovery of a grow house in Tipperary.

Gardaí seized an estimated €29,800 in cannabis herb and €3,000 in cocaine following searches at two properties in the Roscrea area.

The searches were carried out last Saturday by the Tipperary Divisional Drugs Unit with help from Gardaí from Roscrea, Nenagh and Templemore.

The first search took place at around 4pm, where gardaí found cannabis valued at €20,000 (pending analysis), as well as cocaine.

A follow-up search at a nearby residence led Gardaí to the discovery of a grow house.

A number of cannabis herb plants, along with other drug paraphernalia, were seized at the property. It is believed that the plants have an estimated worth of €9,800, according to the Garda Press Office.

Two men, both aged in their twenties, were arrested at the scene of the first search. They were taken to Nenagh Garda station where they were detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act) of 1996.

Both men have since been charged and appeared before Limerick District Court this morning.

A 45 year-old man was also arrested following the second search. He remains in custody under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice Act 1996.

Gardai say investigations remain ongoing.
