Gardaí seize €160,000 of cocaine in Co Wexford as two people arrested

The bust was made as a result of ongoing probes into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Arklow and Enniscorthy areas.

Gardaí have arrested two people after seizing a whopping €160,000 worth of suspected cocaine in Co Wexford.

The bust was made as a result of ongoing probes into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Arklow and Enniscorthy areas.

Officers from Wicklow Detective and Drugs Units, Enniscorthy Detective Unit and the South Eastern Region Armed Support Unit searched a home in Enniscorthy under warrant at approximately 6:20pm last Friday, April 8.

During the raid, approximately €160,000 of suspected cocaine was seized (pending analysis).

As part of the investigation, officers arrested a woman and a man in Enniscorthy, both aged in their 20s.

The pair were arrested on Sunday morning and are currently being detained at Wicklow Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Investigations are ongoing.
