MAJOR HAUL Gardai seize €1.4m worth of cannabis following Coolock search
Gardai and Revenue have seized €1.4 million worth of cannabis after a raid carried out in north Dublin last Friday.
The search was conducted by the Revenue's Custom Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau as part of an intelligence led operation into organised crime gangs.
The haul of 71kgs of cannabis was discovered following a search of a premises in the Coolock area in Dublin, with the assistance of detector dog Robbie.
"This operation was part of ongoing joint investigations targeting the illegal activities of organised crime groups," a Revenue spokesperson said.
"If businesses or members of the public have any information regarding drug smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on Confidential Phone Number 1800 295 295."
No arrests have been made at this stage.
Investigations are ongoing.
