Gardaí are investigating the discharge of a firearm at a house in the Kildare Road area of Crumlin at approximately 8:30pm last night.

The front door of the house was damaged as a result of an apparent gun shot.

Sources said no injuries occurred.

Three people including two women and a man are understood to have been resident in the property at the time.

A technical examination of the scene has taken place and investigations are ongoing.

Earlier yesterday, at approximately 3pm, gardai received a report of an altercation in the same area.

Garda responding to that call-out found nothing out of the ordinary when they arrived at the alleged scene.

Sources say as of now there is nothing to suggest a link between the earlier report of an alleged altercation and the shooting incident later on.
