
No arrests Gardai launch investigation after two handguns found in a ditch in Cork
Gardaàin Cork have launched an investigation after two firearms after they were discovered in a ditch yesterday.Â
At around 5pm on Wednesday, gardaà from Watercourse Road received a report from a member of the public that they had found two suspected handguns at Ballycollie Road, Whitescross.
When detective gardaà arrived at the scene, they discovered a suspected revolver and a semi-automatic pistol that were uncovered in a ditch.
The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination and the Divisional Search Team and the Southern Region Dog Unit are in the process of conducting a search of the area.
Both of the suspected firearms will now be sent for analysis.
No arrests have been made and the investigation into the matter remains ongoing.
