Video nasty Gardaí investigate alleged pitchfork attack in Ballyfermot after viral footage


GARDAÍ have confirmed that they are investigating reports of an attack in Ballyfermot that went viral across social media. 

The short video nasty appears to show a number of youths, one of whom looks to be carrying a pitchfork, attacking a man at the side of street in west Dublin.

It is believed that the footage was recorded at 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon before it was uploaded to various social media platforms.

The video clearly shows several men launching a brutal attack on a separate individual.

One of the attackers appears to be carrying a pitchfork and swings wildly at the victim, striking him on a number of occasions.

The victim makes repeated attempts to flee the apparent assault and eventually manages to escape despite receiving a flurry of blows from the alleged attackers.

In a statement released to the Sunday World, gardaí confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

“Gardaí are investigating reports of a public order incident which occurred in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 on Saturday 14th November 2020 at approximately 12.30pm.

“Investigations ongoing.”
