Gardai are hunting a four-man gang who broke into a house in Co Tipperary in the early hours of this morning and subjected the occupant to a terrifying ordeal.

The four masked men got into the house in the Ballinderry area of Borrisokane at around 1.30am and a confrontation occurred.

They then fled the scene in a silver car. The occupant of the home was not injured during the incident.

Gardaí said they are appealing for witnesses.
