More than €55,000 worth of drugs were discovered hidden in Loughlinstown Forest in Dublin yesterday.

Following searches conducted by the Garda Divisional Drugs Unit and Garda Dog Unit on Saturday, quantities of cocaine, cannabis, and other drug paraphernalia were discovered at the forest in Dublin.

The seized drugs have a combined value of €55,500.

It was one of a number of drugs seizures over the weekend.

In an unconnected incident, gardai discovered an additional €200,000 worth of cannabis during a raid in Dublin yesterday.

The joint intelligence led operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the DMR North Divisional Drugs Unit, and the Revenue Customs Service as part of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime gangs operating in the area.

Gardai said investigations are ongoing.
