Springer spaniels stolen from their home in Kildare

Kind-hearted animal lovers from across the country have rowed in behind a Garda effort to locate two stolen dogs.

The Kildare Garda Division say Clane Gardai are investigating the theft of the two female springer spaniels.

"These dogs were taken on the night of the 9th December 2020 in Allenwood, Co Kildare", a post on their Facebook page reads.

"Clane Gardai wish to appeal to anyone who may have bought or been offered these dogs to please contact them.

"The owners of these dogs are obviously distraught and in hope of being reunited with their beloved pets.

"Anyone with any information please contact Clane Gardaí on 045868262."

In response, the post has been shared more than 1,000 times amongst the Facebook community with dozens of people leaving comments.

"Shared in hope", one person from Dublin wrote. "Bring them home", added another.

One kind person added: "Please God they will be found safe", while another revealed a similar dog had been found by Gardaí in Co Laois.

"Shared in hope xx Wexford and Milton Keynes", added another.

Others shared the post in various locations across Ireland including Westmeath, Carlow, and North Kildare.

It has also been shared in Dartford, Kent and Leeds in the UK.
