Coolock probe Father of feud murder victim Sean Little arrested in prison over Hamid Sanambar hit
The murders of Little and Sanambar came months after Zach Parker (23) was shot in January 2019 sparking the lethal Coolock feud.
The father of gangland murder victim Sean Little has been arrested in prison and questioned by gardaí over the fatal shooting of hitman Hamid Sanambar.
Stephen Little, whose 22-year-old son was found dead in a burning car after being lured to a meeting in 2019, is serving time for possession of a handgun.
Just days after that killing, Hamid Sanambar was shot dead outside the Little family home in Coolock where he had called to pay his respects.
Sunday World sources confirmed this week gardaí investigating the Iranian national’s death had arrested and questioned Stephen Little in relation to it earlier this month.
The murders of Little and Sanambar came months after Zach Parker (23) was shot in January 2019 sparking the lethal Coolock feud.
Little senior is serving six-years in Wheatfield prison after being caught with a gun as part of a plot to try and kill a man, pleading guilty at a Special Criminal Court trial in 2020.
It emerged in court he had told arresting gardaí: “Had you given me another hour, I would have killed the ******* that killed him. I lost my marriage and my son.”
He was intercepted by armed officers who believed he was on the way to kill Kinahan Cartel hitman Caolan Smyth in September 2019.
Sanambar, who had worked as a driver for Sean Little, was seen as a soft target to avenge his death, but is suspected to have played a role in the killing.
The Iranian had cultivated an image of a gangland killer but was in fact a small-time criminal who was described by one source as “a Walter Mitty character.”
According to the Garda Press Office: “A male was arrested under warrant, as part of a Garda Investigation into the fatal shooting of a man on Kilbarron Avenue, Coolock, on the 28th May 2019, on the 8th March ’22 and brought to Ballymun Garda Station.”
“He has since been released without charge. The investigation is ongoing.”
