Drogheda pet shop warns bunny thieving children they have them on camera

Who stole Roger Rabbit?

That's the question staff in a pet shop in Drogheda want answered and they have taken to social media to warn the thieves that they have photographic and video evidence of them bagging the bunny.

Staff at Pet Bliss on the towns Donore Road retail park posted on the Facebook page saying, 'We are deeply saddened this week.

'A customer put this bunny on hold from us and two children came into the shop and stole it. We love and care for all the animals we have and we try as hard as we can to find good homes for these pets.

'To have someone rob this poor helpless bunny is absolutely heartbreaking for us and for the new family who thought they were bringing the bunny home.

'Please please share this post to see if we can locate the bunny and have it returned to us. If you know anything or have seen someone get a bunny like this recently, please let us know. The Garda are involved and we have photos and videos of the children who stole it.'

A spokeswoman for the shop told the Sunday World, ' It's devastating when something like this happens all the staff here care for the pets as if they were their own.

'As you can imagine there are a few children very upset too as they were looking forward to having a brand new pet.'

A Garda spokesperson said, 'Gardai are investigating a theft from a retail premises in Drogheda on Thursday 26th May. Investigations are ongoing.
