Revenue’s detector dog Robbie was in action yesterday as he helped sniff out a batch of cannabis herb as officers examined parcels at a premises in Dublin.
The seizure was just one of two made yesterday as, in a separate operation, Revenue officers also seized a further 36kgs of cannabis herb and 6kgs of cannabis resin at Dublin Port.
The illegal drugs were discovered concealed within a furniture consignment that had arrived from Spain.
The drugs seized in both operations have a combined estimated value of €716,000.

Revenue said investigations are ongoing.
“These seizures are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs,” they added.
