A woman was arrested after Revenue officers found €210,000 worth of cocaine in a suitcase at Dublin Airport on Monday.

The illegal drugs, which weighed 3kg, were discovered when officers stopped and searched the woman’s baggage after she got off a flight from Lisbon, Portugal as a result of routine profiling.

The woman, aged in her 20s, was arrested by An Garda Siochana and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Ballymun Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.

A Revenue spokesperson added: “This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the importation of drugs. If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on Confidential Phone Number 1800 295 295.”
