'git' shirty CAB target two houses and €20k in assets from close associate of murdered kingpin Eamon ‘The Don’ Dunne
Properties belonging to notorious brothers the focus of seizure orders from the Criminal Assets Bureau
CAB target Christoper Waldron looks like the Bureau have taken the shirt from his back as he takes in the sunshine in the garden of his Cabra home.
The Bureau are looking to take two houses and €20k worth of designer watches from Waldron, who they suspect is involved in the supply of drugs and who will be described as a close associate of murdered psycho Eamon ‘the Don’ Dunne.
One of the two homes identified by officers as the ‘proceeds of crime’ is Waldron’s family home at Killalla Road, Cabra, on Dublin’s northside where he still lives and where we snapped him in the past few weeks.
Assets
A Section 3 order prohibiting the sale or disposal of the assets identified, which also includes a house at Mellows Road in Finglas, was granted in the High Court this month by Justice Alexander Owens.
Amongst the other items listed are a ladies’ Rolex watch valued at over €17,000 and two men’s designer watches.
Waldron is a brother of convicted drug dealer David Waldron, who is also subject to a proceeds of crime case being taken by the Criminal Assets Bureau.
Among the targeted assets in his case is a stunning country pile in the Wexford countryside which is set in a rolling valley and with views from balconied windows.
His wife, Charlene Waldron, will claim she has a beneficial interest in the house, which she will say she invested in with money she got from her father, when the case comes to hearing later this year.
The brothers, David and Christopher ‘Git’, were once members of brutal drug lord Eamon ‘The Don’ Dunne’s tight inner circle, along with the Bradley brothers Wayne and Alan.
Murder
It is suspected that they took over his turf after his dramatic murder at the Fassaugh House Pub in Cabra ten years ago, and officers from the CAB will say they have bought up assets with the proceeds from crime ever since.
The CAB cases against the brothers are expected to be heard together – although they involve separate assets and a property portfolio stretching from Dublin to Wexford.
The jewel in the crown is the stunning countryside home, which the CAB say David Waldron purchased with the proceeds of crime.
It is a newly-built, architect-designed pile in Laraheen, deep in the Wexford countryside, which overshadows the neighbouring homes in scale and design.
The dream mansion has stables and even a man cave fitted out with a pool table and a private bar.
Assault
CAB officers have discovered that David Waldron was serving time in prison for a savage assault when the house was built on foot of planning applications to Wexford County Council.
Known as ‘Darview’, it measures 3,000 square foot and has bedrooms en-suite, as well as viewing platforms over three storeys.
Two years ago the house, along with 23 properties linked to David and Christopher Waldron were raided by the CAB and the Garda’s Drug and Organised Crime Bureau.
David Waldron has nine convictions, including one for drug dealing. Brother Christopher was part of a group of men jailed in connection with a violent assault.
The pair are suspected of nabbing business from the murdered ‘Don’ after he died and then linking in with the Kinahan Cartel, which had sanctioned his assassination.
