A 16 year old boy has been treated for injuries received during an aggravated burglary in a seaside village last night.

The incident took place in Clogherhead, county Louth just before 7.30pm on Monday.

It is understood that two males wearing balaclavas were involved but sources have dismissed local concerns that they were carrying a firearm.

At this stage it is also understood that it is not connected to the Drogheda feud.

The Garda Press Office confirmed ‘a male juvenile in his teens was treated at the scene for his injuries, nothing is understood to have been taken during the incident. No arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing.’
