Appeal for information over attack on uniformed garda Padraig Scott in Co Cavan

GARDAÍ have renewed appeals for information on an attack that left a uniformed officer unconscious and in need of hospital treatment.
Garda Padraig Scott, an unarmed officer, was assaulted in the early hours of the 28th February 2022, near Loughan House prison in Co Cavan.
He remains off duty as he recovers from his injuries, according to the Garda Press Office.
Last night, gardaí carried out a checkpoint on the N16, Loughan, Co. Cavan at the scene of this attack.

Speaking this morning, Chief Superintendent Alan McGovern said: "The investigation team continue to make progress in this investigation and I want to thank the public for their support and the assistance received to date.
“I continue to appeal for any person with any information on this attack to contact investigating Gardaí.”
