Gardaí seize car in Dublin after discovering tax was six years out of date

Gardai have seized a vehicle in Dublin after discovering its tax certificate was out of date by almost six years.
The vehicle was seized in the Tallaght area after the roads policing unit spotted the anomaly during a routine patrol.
The vehicle was seized and a fine issued to the driver.
The expiry date on the certificate was dated June 2016.
An Garda Síochána shared the seizure on social media in a bid to encourage others to be compliant.
“DMR South roads policing unit were on patrol in Tallaght recently when they discovered that this vehicle was out of Tax for almost 6 years!” They wrote.
“The vehicle was seized and a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice was issued.”
