Gardai probe suspected arson attack on house in Tallaght that left six in hospital

Two men remain in a “serious condition” in hospital after a fire ripped through a house in Tallaght in a suspected arson attack in the early hours of this morning.

Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the scene of the blaze on Glenshane Lawns where seven people in total were rescued.

Six people were brought to Tallaght University Hospital after the fire that caused extensive damage to the house broke out before 4am.

Of the six, two men, aged 46 and 20, are said to be in a "serious condition" after what has been reported to have been an arson attack.

Dublin Fire Brigade brought the large fire under control which caused extensive damage to the property.

A garda spokeswoman said gardai in Tallaght are investigating all the circumstances in relation to the house fire in the early hours of this morning.

"At approximately 4am, gardaí in Tallaght attended the scene, and all seven persons were out of the house,” the spokesperson said.

“Six persons were removed to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment and two males (46 years and 20 years) are in a serious condition.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
