Young man (22) facing drug dealing and possession charges sent forward for trial

A young man facing multiple counts of possession of cannabis, as well as having the drug for sale or supply, has been sent forward for trial.
Klaidas Steponkus (22) was served with the book of evidence when he appeared on bail before Blanchardstown District Court.
The accused, with an address at Buirg an Ri Walk in Lucan, is charged with four counts of possession of cannabis and four counts of having the drug for the purposes of sale or supply.
The drugs offences allegedly took place at Foxdene Green in Clondalkin on February 18, 2020, again on February 26, 2020, on March 3, 2020 and March 5, 2020.

A State solicitor said that the book of evidence was ready and had been served on the accused, who goes forward to the next sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Judge David McHugh gave the accused the formal alibi caution, warning him he had 14 days to provide to the State details of anyone he proposed calling as a witness.
The judge assigned defence solicitor Simon Fleming and one junior counsel on free legal aid.
Mr Steponkus was remanded on bail to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on a date next February.
Judge McHugh ordered that a video copy of an interview which gardaí conducted with the accused should be furnished to the accused man's legal team. The accused, who previously worked as a carpenter and a fitter, has not yet indicated how he intends to plead to the charge.
