Worker is spared criminal record for assault on colleague who was left with a lacerated face
Witold Tamulewicz, of Laraghcon, Lucan
A FACTORY worker has been spared a criminal record for assaulting a colleague who was left with a lacerated face and sprained fingers.
Witold Tamulewicz (35) pushed his co-worker, causing the injuries at a business in west Dublin.
Judge David McHugh struck the charge out, leaving him without a conviction for assault, after the accused paid €1,000 to the victim.
Tamulewicz, of Laraghcon, Lucan, Co Dublin had pleaded guilty.
The judge told Blanchardstown District Court the accused had apologised and the €1,000 was to go to the victim's expenses resulting from the assault.
"I'll leave the matter at that," he said, striking the charge out.

Garda Sergeant Maria Callaghan said the incident happened at Davenham Switchgear, Weatherwell Business Park, Clondalkin on March 4 last year.
Tamulewicz was working there when he pushed the victim from behind, causing the man to fall forward and hit his face on a shelf.
He suffered a laceration to his face that needed four stitches, Sgt Callaghan said.
The victim also sprained two fingers on his right hand when he grabbed the shelf as he fell.
The judge had accepted jurisdiction to deal with the charge in the district court as it involved "a push rather than a thump".
Free legal aid was granted after defence solicitor Cahir O'Higgins made an application and said Tamulewicz's earnings were "borderline".
