A customer service worker who drunkenly told a garda "you're all a bunch of f**king w*nkers" could not remember a thing about the evening, a court heard.

Imelda Russell (38 ) was very embarrassed about her behaviour, which occurred during a night out with friends.

Judge Gerard Jones ordered Russell to donate €200 to Crumlin Children's Hospital and he struck the matter out.

The defendant, of St Ronan's Gardens in Clondalkin, admitted public drunkenness and threatening and abusive behaviour on July 3.

Sergeant Maria Callaghan told Blanchardstown District Court gardaí were called to the car park of the Waterside Pub in Clondalkin shortly after midnight following reports of a public order incident.

Sgt Callaghan said gardaí were dealing with another person when Russell, who was highly intoxicated, became abusive towards officers, telling one of them "you're a w*nker" and "you're all a bunch of f**kin w*nkers".

The court heard that Russell had no previous convictions.

Defence solicitor Valerie Buckley said Russell, a single mother, was out with friends and could not remember a thing and did not even know what the garda looked like.
