Charged Two youths due in court following Howth Junction DART Station incident

Gardaí had issued an appeal to those who were present at the time of the incident that was captured on CCTV or to anyone who could assist in the investigation to come forward

Two juveniles are due to appear before Dublin Children’s Court this morning in relation to an incident at Howth Junction DART Station last April. 

Gardai have charged both males who were previously arrested after a girl was knocked off the platform on April 1.

An appeal had been issued to those who were present at the time of the incident that was captured on CCTV or to anyone who could assist in the investigation to come forward.

A number of items including bikes, mobile phones and clothes were also seized as part of the inquiry.

Footage of the incident emerged on social media showing a number of young women running past a group of male youths before one of them is shoved off the DART platform.

Three boys who were later arrested were released without charge.

Two of the boys are 16 and the other is 13.

“Following directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions, gardai have charged two male juveniles who were previously arrested in relation to an incident that occurred at Howth Junction Dart Station on April 1, 2021,” a garda spokesman said today.

“Both are due to appear before Dublin Children’s Court this morning, Tuesday, November 9.”
