Two people arrested after a €69,000 cash and drugs seizure in Dublin have been charged and are due before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning. 

A man (52), and a 21-year-old woman were arrested after almost €65,000 of drugs and €4,450 cash was seized by gardai in the Dublin 8 area on Monday.

Gardai attached to Kevin Street Divisional Drug Unit assisted by the DMR Surveillance unit, carried out a planned operation at a house on Nicholas Street and Bride Street.

“A woman, 21-years-old, was searched and diamorphine was seized with an estimated street value of €29,960 (subject to analysis),” gardai said.

“A further stop and search was conducted and a man (52) was found with €4,450 cash on his person.”

Gardai added that further searches were conducted at two properties and diamorphine was discovered with an estimated street value of €35,000 (subject to analysis).

They said investigations are ongoing.
